Tripping up the Stairs
Tripping up the Stairs is a high energy traditional band playing a dynamic mixture of your favourite Irish, Celtic & Australian sing-a-longs and toe-tapping tunes.
With all of the musicians being born & raised in Ireland, they are a real Irish band playing real Irish music.
The band consists of Sean, Martin, Vinnie & Christy (all from Dublin), Shay (Tullamore), & Alison (Belfast.)
All the musicians are multi-instrumentalists and between them they play: - harp, whistles, low whistles, flute, accordion, bodhran, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, harmonica, bones, & vocals!
An Irish session is not just about the music – its about the atmosphere, the food, the drink, the friends, the fun, the stories, the banter between the crowd & the musicians – the Irish have a name for this – they call it “the craic”. It’s everyone joining in and having a great time.
So come along and see “Tripping up the stairs” for the best Irish music & craic!
this is a fairly typical review of one of our session nights.
“Hi Alison,
Just a short note to say a big THANK YOU to you and the all the players for last night – it was one the best sessions I have seen – it occurred to me as I drove home last night, and recalled Vinny's words of thanks as I was leaving, that all the musicians were thanking us and yet you have no idea what a huge amount of pleasure you guys give out every time you play – you and the band are the catalyst for not only a fun evening but a great club atmosphere and a bunch of people who have become great friends through your music – so whilst I thank Vinny for his words, it is I who benefit so much from the nights and for that I cannot thank you, Vinny, Sean, Shea, Christy and all the others enough.
Pete”
